SSJVFD Donates Gear to Fire Department In Mexico

O ur local Silverton San Juan Volunteer Fire Department donated its used bunker gear and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) masks to a fire department in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico, that has family ties here in Silverton.

There we were with .9 inches of snow and .05 for water content - for all of December. It was a cliffhanger for all of us up here! Would we get coal for Christmas or powder from up high? That was the real question! Our streets were wicked, icy, and slick.
